We welcome a batch of new readers who saw my posting in NEWLIST. This list is well known as a great place for new Ezines to be announced, sometimes attracting a hundred or more subscribers with one posting.

But wait a minute. SuperTips is not a 'new' Ezine.
So how did I accomplish this ?
We'll see later.

I'm sure you've heard countless times that the way to lure visitors to your web site is to offer free information. But exactly how does this work ? - I hear you say.

Take a look at my article below, I hope that gives you some ideas. Then we'll see where you can publish articles so that publishers can find them and also a few do's and don'ts if you want to contribute an article to an Ezine.

Finally we'll see another way of providing free information - someone who's giving away a 224 page book !

What is the best way to attract visitors to your site ?

Everyone agrees on this point - it is by providing Free Information.

Let's see how to do this and why it works so well.

Suppose you are a supplier of video recorders. Hopefully you will be the owner of a professional sounding domain name, such as www.VCRworld.com

You write an informative article entitled "How to Choose a Video Recorder" which explains

* the key features of video recorders

* a guide to prices

* handy tips for using video reorders

* useful accessories

* potential problems

* future developments

Put this article on your web site or have it available by Email (on an autoresponder if you expect a big response).

While your competitors are all posting similar ads which say
  "Buy, buy, buy our cheap video recorders"
or sending unsolicited bulk Email to thousands, you will be posting short ads which say

    Our Free Guide "How to Choose a Video Recorder" explains the key
    features to look for, prices and handy tips.
      Visit http://www.VCRworld.com

And whenever you contribute to any group where there are potential customers you include in your signature

    "How to Choose a Video Recorder " (FREE guide)
    http:// www.VCRworld.com

Your visitors will be impressed by the quality of free information you are providing and your well chosen domain name: they will regard you as an authority on the subject.

They will be easily influenced to buy from your site while your competitors' unoriginal ads are consigned to the Email waste bin.

4. "10 Things You Can Do Right Now To Increase Traffic To Your Site!"

Hello Everyone, I have been reading a lot of post in discussion groups and receiving emails from individuals who have just started a business on the internet, who have just finished designing and posting their websites, but now would like to know what's the next step? I thought I would share 10 things YOU could do right NOW and drive HUGE traffic to YOUR site. I know ALL these ideas work too. How? Because I am personally using them every day and they WILL work for YOU too.

1. Become a "Traffic Junky" You have to start to think traffic, eat traffic and sleep traffic. You have to always be thinking of ways to drive more traffic to your site. You can't just post a site and expect visitors to come. You MUST advertise, market, promote and then promote. You have to try to drive more traffic to your site every day. Traffic is one of those things you have to work at; it doesn't just happen over night.

2. Post Every Day

You MUST post your ads, send out your sales letters every day. A day shouldn't go by that you haven't posted your ads or sent out your sales letters. You should make it your objective to send out at least 35 sales letters a week. That's only 5 sales letters a day.

3. Post to classifieds sites You should try to post your classified ad to at least 5 to 10 sites a day. If you want to find free classified links; just go to a search engine, type in "free classified site". You'll see there will be a list of thousands. As you begin to post your ad make a list of the URL's of the sites that you have posted your ads. This will be your list for future references. After posting for a while you'll see that you have a long list of classified sites.

4. Trade Links

This is the part of marketing advertisers don't like, trading links. In all actuality, this is the one of the best thing you could do. Most fear trading links, just opens the door for prospects to purchase from your competitors. But this isn't true. This can work more to your advantage because it gives your prospects the perception that you care only for their best interests and desires, you're really here for them and to satisfy them. Anyways, you can't control who your prospects purchase from. If they want to buy a particular product or service from your competitors, they will and if they want to purchase from you they will.

5. Build A Prospect List

Who visited YOUR site today? YOU don't know? You MUST start building a prospect list TODAY. How? Start by collecting your visitors email addresses and ask them if they would like to receive more information about your products or services. Start a contest or something, the key is to collect your visitors' email addresses. Once you have the email addresses, send this list your sales letters, specials,coupons etc..., but DON'T use this list to spam. I hate receiving spam and I wont even read it if I didn't request the information.

6. Post to Discussion Boards, Opt-In Mailing Lists, Message Boards and Discussion Groups.

You should try to post to these forums frequently even if you're just posting a question that you may not have knowledge of. Post it anyways. It won't hurt you at all. In fact it will help you. This will give individuals an opportunity to gain a greater knowledge of who your are, information about your products or services, the theme of your site, open the door for networking with other sites, trading links and ads etc...

When you're answering a question posted, this can be beneficial too. This will give others the perception that you are an expert in your field or that you know your stuff. If the information that you supply is helpful the next time when someone has a problem that relates to your area of expertise, YOU will automatically come to mind. It can also allow you the chance to add to your prospect list, trade links etc...

7. Start an Ezine

This is one of the BEST methods being used today in internet marketing. You can find ezines about any subject all over the web; so you can see the effectiveness or everyone wouldn't be using them. You wouldn't be reading this one. : ) It goes back to what I stated earlier "Don't reinvent the wheel, but find something that works and do it in your own way or better". Ezine marketing works! Not only are they effective, but it will create another way to generate income; because you could sell ad space in your ezine. You could distribute your ezine every day, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, annually or whichever you prefer. The more frequent, the better. Ezines keep your prospect updated on your products and services,specials, discounts, new products, changes etc... This is a legal way to send your prospects information about your offers, without spamming.

8. Subscribe to ALL Ezines Related to YOUR Targeted Market

9. Research, Research, Research There are many reasons you should subscribe to ALL ezines related to your targeted market. One reason is that you MUST become better at what you do. You don't know it all, but you can always learn how to become better. You have to read everything you can get your hands on. Success requires work, it wont come easy; so you have to find the paths to it.

If you had a chance to come to my office you will see my desk covered with books about marketing, copies of ezines, magazines, shelves filled with books related to business and internet marketing etc..., my mailbox is filled every day with ezines I have subscribed to. There's not a day that goes by that I don't at least read a few pages from a book or read an ezine; because I'm determined to be better and the best at what I do. Not all ezines are good, but most have good information that I can implement in my program and to become better at what I do. Plus if you don't like a particular ezine, you can always unsubscribe. No loss to you, it's FREE.

10. Start NOW! Don't procrastinate or you'll NEVER do it. I can name 100's of things I'm still waiting to do and I know I'm never going to do. Start NOW! What's the worst thing that can happen? You implement these ideas, they work, you receive more traffic to your site and you make more money! Then again you could just continue to do nothing, but as we say "0 hits = $0, but MORE hits = MORE $$$! Jump Start YOUR Business NOW!!!

5. More "Super" Tips

5.1 Where to publish your articles

IdeaMarketers at <http://www.ideamarketers.com> act as a writer-publisher matching service.

You can post your articles - for free - at their site where they become available for publishers to use.

You can edit them online whenever you wish and see how many times they have been requested.

A good article may appear in their 'Best article' list and receive extra exposure. I picked one at random and noticed that it had been requested 120 times.

Although I have all my articles on my web site here and available by autoresponder a00@sendfree.com I have also started to post them at IdeaMarketers site.
Worth a visit.

5.2 How to send your article to a publisher

As both a publisher and writer of articles I am able to pick up tips about the right and wrong way of submitting articles.

Let me give you an example. Someone recently sent me a number of articles. They came along in drips and drabs. One was attached to their initial mail, others were sent as attached DOC files. This meant extra work for the submitter and similarly for me in extracting the information.

Furthermore, as they were in DOC format they contained text in BOLD format which is unsuitable for sending out via Email if you are using plain text.

Another person offered his articles in a standard unpersonalised message saying how great my newsletter was even though it was evident that he had never read it.

When I offer articles to a publisher I include their name and publication in both the subject and the content of the Email. You will be surprised at the difference it makes to receive a message that starts "Hi Harvey" as opposed to "Hi".

I never send full articles, only a summarised list. You can see what this looks like this by sending an Email to a00@sendfree.com

Each article on the list is available by autoresponder. The publisher simply selects the ones he may be interested in. Less work for him and me.

By the way the autoresponders that I use are free. Moreover they earn me credit for free ads every time someone requests my articles.

Full details here where I have also included a simple tip which can help MULTIPLY your response.

5.3 Ken Evoy's free book

Do you find it annoying to be told that you can have a free book only to find that there is a catch and that you have to join something or other - which involves payment - before you can get the book.

Ken Evoy has produced a 224 page book containing some of the best advice you will find for promoting any affiliate program.

5.4 How to get more subscribers

The NEWLIST at http://scout.cs.wisc.edu/scout/new-list/ has a membership of over 10,000 so you can be sure of pulling in lots of subscribers when you launch a new Ezine and announce it in their list.

Now here's a tip - if you make changes such as a new format or introducing new subjects you can resubmit your posting as a 'Change'. As I have recently changed the frequency of publication of SuperTips I took the opportunity of resubmitting, mentioning also that all back issues were available in the archives at e00@sendfree.com.

This attracted some 30 or 40 new subscribers.

Hey that gives me an idea, maybe I'll keep changing the frequency every week and posting to the Newlist.
