if you want to start seeing some good results from your online efforts,
I guess we could break this down to three simple things:
1)
You need to know what to do...
2) You need
to know how to do it... and...
3) You then
need to actually do it...
There's no doubt that there's wealth of info on the Internet.
In fact, I know of several people who are very knowledgeable
about marketing and what it takes to create a site that sells...
Still, even though they may know what to do,
I see that they almost never use their own knowledge. Every time I ask some of these people "Why ain't you using this "trick"?
You know that it will make you more money", I
almost always receive the same answer:
"Yeah, so what if I know that it will make me more
money? I don't know jack about how to implement
this on my site. I'm not a programmer you know..."
A-HA!
Now we are getting closer to the root of all evil...
The problem
with building a profitable website is that it can get very
"technical." All the neat tricks you see on many sites
are created by "source code" (the actual building blocks
of a website like "HTML").
In order
to implement these building blocks, you need to either:
a) be
a programmer...
b) pay
for a programmer or...
c)
spend days, weeks and months searching on the "Search
Engines" to find the missing pieces of the puzzle...
HINT: By the
time you find them you are dead in the water because
bills ar running and you need to pay them now!
(Don't we all?)
Allow
me to give you a good example so that you understand better:
Did you know
that one of the biggest myths regarding building a site that sells
is that "popups don't work"?
I can understand
perfectly why some people have been (mis)led
to believe something like this...
Blame it on those cretins
who use 10 popups on their pages with all kindsa stuff that have nothing
to do with the theme of their site (ie: a site selling furniture with
a popup for medications).
If however
you use popups sensibly (like set up a special
offer for example), you can easily increase your online profits
by 20%, 30% 40% or more!
I have personally
used a specific type of popup on one of my sites (after someone
left my site) and almost half of my sales where generated by that
popup alone!
That's
an increase in sales of almost 100%. You don't get that
in the stock market...
I mean, If people
are that annoyed by popups, then how come they buy
through them? If a product was selling for $200 and the site had an
exit popup offering you a $100 discount, would that annoy people?
And... it's not
my fault that popups work (like so many other things you will discover),
so please, don't send me any emails saying things about my mother...
Use popups sensibly
and you will make more money while your visitors
love you for it. End of story...
By the way,
did you know that marketing giant John Reese
recommends a specific type of popup? This has nothing to do with
all the "slide ins" or "hover ads" you see
all over the place...
This is a totally
different animal altogether. Never before seen technology! And I can

Again, all these

you spend all your time looking for the "source code")
